We now know who the last Cumnock Carnival Queen was!

The Woodroad Regeneration Forum has now discovered the date of the last Carnival in the Woodroad Park. This was on 8th June 1974.

The Carnival Queen of that year was 15 year old May Richard of 10 Michie Street, Cumnock. She was in the 3rd Year at Cumnock Academy and was voted for by the 3rd year pupils at the Academy. When she heard the news, she was utterly delighted. Swimming, netball and pop music were her main hobbies.
