Also this week, the annual East Ayrshire Fireworks Display will once again be taking place in the Kay Park, Kilmarnock on Wednesday 5 November.

This display, which is now recognised as one of the best in the West of Scotland, attracted an audience in excess of 40,000 last year.

The event is organised by the Council's Community Recreation Section who work in partnership with Strathclyde Police and the Council's Community Safety team.

Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council said: "Since its inception the event has continued to grow and develop and this year there will once again be plenty on hand for the whole family to enjoy. Activities kick off in the park at 6.30pm with live music on the main stage from Abba tribute band - "Abba Fever".

Elsewhere in the park there is a family funfair to keep the kids occupied. Throughout the evening, the crowds arriving for the display will be entertained by Fire Jugglers who will be putting on displays of their skills throughout the park.

The first rocket will explode into the evening sky at 7.40pm and following this the audience will be entertained with twenty-two minutes of the very best display available.
