Where exactly were the Cumnock Kirklands in 1510?

Were they in (Old) Cumnock or (New) Cumnock?

I find it hard to believe that they were not near Cumnock Castle especially when so many names related to religeon still exist there today eg Dalleagles, Legate, St Brides Bank, Connel Burn, Connel Park (St Conval), perhaps even the name Cumnock itself (Comenoch - confluence of the waters of St Enoch).

Is it possible that the first market was Pathhead crossroads (New) Cumnock until the 1660's, when the parish was devided: 1703 being the date on the Cumnock Merket Cross? Moved to the new main Cumnock settlement by the new lord. See the picture at: http://www.newcumnock.net/images/hamiltons/pathhead2.jpg This could have once been a merket place.

[In 1703 the original Mercat Cross was replaced by the present Cross as a continuing symbol of Cumnock`s status as a burgh of Barony. The Cross has a plain shaft capped with a cube and ball finial. On the sides of the cube are the arms of the Dumfries Family, a sundial and the legend “No. 3 repaired 1778”.

The Cross has stood in various locations over the centuries, from its original position in Townhead Street (cobbles on the street indicate where the cross once stood); to the north – east corner of the square; to near the front door of the parish church; to its present location at the south western corner of the Square. But that would mean that "New Cumnock" should have been celebrating "Cumnock 500".
