22/8/2008Cast for CAMPS production of Beauty and the Beast announced!
The Cumnock Area Musical Production Society, known locally as C.A.M.P.S., is planning another exciting season. The society was formed in May 2000 with the aim to bring a high standard of musical entertainment to the Cumnock and Doon Valley area whilst using local talent as much as possible.
This year they will be performing Beauty and the Beast on stage in Cumnock Academy Assembly Hall from Wednesday, November 19 to Friday, November 21 with performances starting at 7.30pm. The matinee performance will take place on November 22 at 1.30pm.
Rehearsals for Beauty and the Beast officially started this week and the cast was officially announced on the 19th of August:
Beauty - Louise Simpson
Beast - Ross MacFarlane
Silly Milly - Linda Hughes
Glossy Gloria - Ann Black
Bossy Barbara - Anne Hainey
Squire Paul - William Hainey
Jasper - Philip Doole
Mr. Bod - Craig Gilchrist
Silver - Sarah and Taylor
C.A.M.P.S. meet in Cumnock Town Hall on Monday nights 7pm-9:30pm. And we would ask anyone who is interested to come along to the Town Hall on Monday nights. During school term time, we also have rehearsals in Cumnock Academy Assembly Hall on Wednesday nights. Additional rehearsals are scheduled in the run up to the shows.
The group has also decided on their next musical production, scheduled for March 24-27 next year, which will be Oliver. Anybody who is interested in playing the role of Oliver, Nancy or the Artful Dodger can come along to the Town Hall at 7pm on Mondays or 7pm in Cumnock Academy Assembly Hall on Wednesdays.
