22/1/2010ASDA commits to Cumnock for the long term
ASDA says it has a "long term commitment" to its new site in the former Somerfield store in Townhead Street, Cumnock.
The
Cumnock Chronicle reports town centre traders say ASDA's arrival will provide a massive financial boost to existing stores in the area.
Work to convert the Somerfield store will begin next month and ASDA has moved quickly to dismiss suggestions it could leave after only 12 months.
Construction work on the new store is expected to begin next month with an opening scheduled for late March.
