Cumnock & District Angling Association
The Association was formed in 1919 and members can fish parts of the Lugar
and Glaisnock waters as well as Borland Reservoirs. This is now the third year of a five year stocking policy on these rivers.
Borland Reservoirs is a fishery run by members of Cumnock & District Angling Association on a voluntary basis for the benefit of the association and its members.
Memberships at £25 +joining fee of £10 are available as are visitors day tickets, at £10 for 2 fish then catch and release, c/r only ticket £8 at the Reservoir on the day.
We are a Trout Masters fishery
We are affiliated to SANNA and are members of East Ayrshire Lochwatch.
We are situated 1 mile South of Cumnock on the A76 Kilmarnock- Dumfries road.
The Reservoirs are fishing well with the anglers taking to the more sheltered bottom pond in the high winds and wet weather. Almost all are reaching their bag limit using various methods from lures to traditional flies .
At the most recent pairs competition thirty four anglers caught 118 fish for a total of 370 lb
Winners were Billy Boe and J Porter with 9 fish for 27 lb 131/2 oz Mr Boe also had the heaviest fish of 9 lb 14 oz
Second were A Fowler and R Allen with 10 fish for 24 lb 7 oz
Third were B Bell and C Gardiner with 10 fish for 23 lb 7 1/2 oz
The money raised for charity was almost £300
